TraneTraxx Lounge and our Partners present Tribute to John Coltrane on September 20, 2025, 12-4pm at the Golden Gate Park Bandshell, San Francisco, CA. This is a FREE Community Benefit Project to bring John Coltrane and A Love Supreme to the masses.

Four Great Saxophone Coltraneists to play the music of John Coltrane, including Charles McNeal, Bob Kenmotsu, and Lyle Link. With the support of Deszon Claiborne (drums), Micah Smith (piano), and Joshua Thurston Milgrom (Bass). The fourth Saxophone Coltraneist will be Andrew Dixon, who will be supported by Laura Klein (piano), John Wittala (bass), and Mike Quigg (drums).

Our finale (3-4pm) will be a Community Play Along led by Erik Jekabson with Laura Klein (piano), John Wittala (bass) and Mike Quigg (drums). Bring your horns, and come to play for John Coltrane’s Birthday celebration. Songs to practice: Equinox, Impressions, Africa Brass, and Giant Steps.

This is a Free Tribute to John Coltrane. Please come and bring your favorite food, beverage and a lawn chair. Tell All Coltrane Lovers about our Free Coltrane Celebration.
